Action thriller The Night Agent is set to return to Netflix with its second series on January 23, after its first racked in over 98 million global viewers – making it one the most popular shows of all time on the streaming service.
Based on Matthew Quirk’s novel of the same name, for those unfamiliar with its premise, the first instalment follows FBI agent Peter Sutherland as he works alongside a former tech chief executive to uncover a mole in the high ranks of the US government, who is involved in a conspiracy that threatens the nation.
The first series graced our screens all the way back in 2023, so fans of the show are understandably eager to see what the new series has in store. Many are also wondering about the cast shake-up in the new series, which sees the agent take on a new mission. Keep reading to learn who’s returning and which new faces will appear in the upcoming series.
Returning
Gabriel Basso as Peter Sutherland
As the star of the show, Basso will reprise his role for round two. A low-level agent working in the basement of the White House in series one, in the upcoming episodes Sutherland joins a new organisation – Night Action – where he works as a rookie night agent.
Luciane Buchanan as Rose Larkin
Also returning is Luciane Buchanan as Rose Larkin, a former chief executive who becomes romantically and professionally tied to agent Sutherland in the first series. The couple’s fate seemed uncertain when we left them, so we’ll have to see how things play out in series two.
