The NFL world reacts to the death of Dwayne Haskins at 24 years old after being hit by car

Death is never an easy thing to deal with — especially when it feels like the person who passes on still had so much life to live. It’s very upsetting and disturbing.

Those are the only feelings that feel accurate enough to describe the news of Dwayne Haskins’ death at just 24 years old. News broke that Haskins was hit by a car in South Florida on Saturday and it felt like the NFL world’s heart just collectively sank.

Haskins signed with the Pittsburgh Steelers in 2021. The quarterback absolutely rewrote the record books at Ohio State University. In the only season he started in 2018, Haskins threw 50 touchdowns and was named Big Ten Offensive Player of the Year.

People were shocked by the news of his death. Steelers Head Coach Mike Tomlin released a statement following the news.

Folks from across the NFL world, including players, media and fans alike, all sent their condolences.
