It’s the perfect mashup for a certain giant site that sells stuff.
Amazon — which owns the rights to Thursday Night Football — will stream the NFL’s first-ever game on Black Friday, the day after Thanksgiving known for consumers starting their holiday season shopping.
The matchup? Aaron Rodgers’ New York Jets and their AFC East rivals, the Miami Dolphins. Should hopefully be a good game!
But the point here is: Amazon is about to have the perfect way to advertise all of its Black Friday deals while a big subscriber audience tunes in.
That’s something NFL fans pointed out on Twitter after Wednesday’s announcement:
Celebrate Aaron Rodgers hitting 65% of his snaps and gifting the Packers a first round pick on Black Friday!!! https://t.co/Fefgw6xomj

“Aaron Rodgers drops back to pass, by the way buy your Aaron Rodgers jersey today only at a special price on Amazon Prime as part of our Black Friday special” #Jets

No need to go shopping on Black Friday. Stay in. Watch football on Amazon Prime. Shop on Amazon Prime.
This is brilliant cross marketing. https://t.co/Sdz72fUZcF

The product placement in this game is gonna off the charts. Every coach will be dressed up in gear that will be for sale on Amazon. QR codes are gonna be everywhere on the screen. It's gonna be a wild broadcast I think
