Heidi Klum has been using her own surname for so long now that it’s easy to forget that she was once Heidi Samuel, having been married to Seal for nearly a decade (full name Seal Henry Olusegun Olumide Adeola Samuel), the legendary British crooner and Kiss from a Rose hit-maker.
Klum and Seal started dating in 2004 and married in 2005. They were disgustingly in love for much of their relationship, reciting their vows with each year of marriage. “Each year, Heidi and I get remarried,” Seal told People Magazine in 2010.
“It's a great party, but for about an hour, we go off on our own down to a private beach. We sit there with the kids and read vows to each other as the sun sets. It's a very special moment to us."
Seal and Heidi Klum share four children together: Leni (20), Henry (19), Johan (18), and Lou (15). And with a mum like Heidi (the supermodel and Project Runway host), it was inevitable that at least one of them would make big in the modelling biz.
Yesterday it became clear who that would be: Henry Samuel, Klum and Seal’s second eldest, was caught serving face while walking the runway at Lena Erziak Haute Couture Spring-Summer for Paris Haute Couture Fashion Week.
The LA-based model was presenting two all-black look from the collection, a backless black suit with a tie waist, and a more traditional black suit with a large shawl, complete with a decorative golden brooch.
It’s believed to be Henry Samuel’s runway debut, and Heidi Klum couldn’t be prouder. "So proud of you Henry — Opening the Lena Erziak Haute Couture Show in Paris @henrysamle @lena_erziak," Klum wrote on Instagram, sharing a video captured of Samuel from within the crowd.
But it was bound to happen. Regardless of the already well established nepo baby to model pipeline, Klum has been passing down fashion know-how to her kids since they were little.
“We have a rule in the house,” she once said. “Rule number one is always to look cool, and rule number two is don't forget about rule number one. We have other rules… but the number one rule is to always look cool.”
Klum and Seal have both found love again following their split in 2014. Klum followed her pattern of dating musicians, having wed Tom Kaulitz, the guitarist of German pop rock band Tokio Hotel, in 2019, meanwhile Seal is in a private and longstanding relationship with his former personal assistant Laura Strayer.
