The new Spotify feature that takes you back in time

Music streaming giant Spotify has released a new feature for January, that allows you to travel back in time through the idea called a “Playlist in a Bottle.” But you need to act fast as the chance to make your playlist goes at the end of the month.

The idea is to allow people to put some of their favourite songs into a playlist before sealing it to open this time next year, mimicking the idea of a time capsule you would bury in the ground filled with personal trinkets and memories.

The process is actually relatively easy. To start off with you will need to make sure that your app is updated to the latest version, otherwise it won’t work.

Follow the link here, which will take you back to the app and click get started where you will be given a choice of which capsule you want to use - a bear, bottle, lunch box, jean pocket or gumball machine.

Once you’re in, you will need to answer a range of song-based questions, prompting you to select different songs you would associate with different moments or times. After answering the questions you will finally seal the capsule and send it off. You won't be able to access it until next January.
