Kevin Thomson believes both Celtic and Rangers face renewed pressure after the title lead swapped, as he told his former side to "wake up".
The second derby clash of the season saw Ange Postecoglou 's side take a dominant 3-0 win to go top of the Premiership by a point.
Despite the emphatic win there are still 14 games remaining though, and Thomson knows first hand that both leading and chasing bring their own pressures.
But the former Rangers man knows the momentum is very much with their city rivals as he urged Gio van Bronckhorst's side to wake up and smell the title challenge.
Thomson said on Sky Sports News: "Sometimes when you create a wee gap you build momentum and the pressure really is on the team that's sitting second to not slip up.
"On the opposite side, sometimes when you're in front and you've not been there the players start to get a bit itchy and a wee bit tetchy and performances can become difficult.
"So it is a difficult one to call, and whether Rangers like it or not Celtic need to take a lot of credit for how quickly they've managed to turn around a disappointing season last year to really make this a title fight.
"If Rangers thought any title was easy they better wake up and understand that winning titles at a club like Rangers is never easy.
"They need to get back on the bandwagon, they need to get back playing and firing the way they have been.
"They have been superb over the course of the last 18 months or so, winning 55, but one thing I do know about being a Rangers player is you're only as good as your last game, unfortunately."
