The new films and shows out on Disney+ this weekend - October 28

The working week is done, and another weekend is finally upon us. As the cold autumnal weather rears its head, you may feel like a cosy night in front of the TV to enjoy some well-earned rest and relaxation.

If that sounds up your street, Disney has you covered. Whether you fancy a trip to a galaxy far, far away, or a stay in India’s best exotic hotel, there is something for everyong this October weekend.

Here are the new films and shows available to stream on Disney+ this weekend.

Star Wars: Tales of the Jedi – Season one

This anthology series created by Dave Filoni ( The Mandalorian ) comprises six all-new animated shorts that tell stories featuring Jedi from the Star Wars prequel era, including the tales of a younger Ahsoka Tano and Count Dooku. Also featuring is Ahsoka’s master Anakin Skywalker and Dooku’s apprentice, a young Qui-Gon Jinn, with Liam Neeson returning to voice the Jedi he first portrayed more than 20 years ago.

All six episodes are available to stream now.

The Mysterious Benedict Society – Season two

In this this adventure-comedy based on Trenton Lee Stewart’s books of the same name, gifted orphans Reynie, Sticky, Kate and Constance are recruited by the eccentric Mr. Benedict (Tony Hale) to go on a secret mission. Back for another series, the four children embark on a new mission to save the world from the nefarious plans of Benedict’s twin brother Dr. L.D. Curtain.

When the kids discover Mr. Benedict and Number Two (Kristen Schaal) have been kidnapped, they must piece together the riddles and clues within a perilous scavenger hunt set by Mr. Benedict to foil Curtain’s latest scheme. Relying on only their wits, intellect, and empathy, the charming group of misfits embark on a globe-trotting adventure by air, land, sea and pie truck, calling upon their special skills to solve the mysteries and rescue their lost comrades.

The Second Best Exotic Marigold Hotel

Boasting an all-star ensemble cast including Judi Dench, Maggie Smith, Bill Nighy and Richard Gere, this sequel to 2011’s hit comedy-drama takes viewers back to India for a second stay at the titular hotel. As the Best Exotic Marigold Hotel only has a single remaining vacancy, posing a rooming predicament for two fresh arrivals, Sonny Kapoor (Dev Patel) pursues his expansionist dream of opening a second hotel.
