The weekend is upon us once again, which means a host of exciting new films and shows are dropping on streaming services. If you’re looking forward to a lazy couple of days in front of the TV but are at a loss for what to watch, we know just the thing.

Here, we have compiled the best new content on Disney+ to keep you entertained this weekend. Whether you fancy the fascinating yet tragic tale behind the family of Anne Frank, or a series of animated shorts set in a galaxy far, far away to mark Star Wars Day, Disney has you covered.

A Small Light

This biographical drama series follows Miep Gies (Bel Powley), who helped hide Otto Frank (Liev Schreiber) – the father of famed diarist Anne – and his family from the Nazis during World War II.

Rye Lane

This romantic comedy follows Dom (David Jonsson) and Yas (Vivian Oparah), two twenty-somethings both reeling from bad break-ups, who connect over the course of an eventful day in South London – helping each other deal with their nightmare exes, and potentially restoring their faith in romance.

Ed Sheeran: The Sum of It All

For the first time ever, global superstar Ed Sheeran opens the doors to a definitive and searingly honest view into his private life as he explores the universal themes that inspire his music. The Sum of It All follows Ed after he learns of life-changing news and reveals his hardships and triumphs during the most challenging period of his life.

This original four-part docuseries features exclusive footage behind his iconic hits, never-before-seen personal archive with his friends and family, and epic stadium performances giving insight into Ed’s world. In each episode, Ed faces themes and emotions that most people experience.

Ed expresses his deeper thoughts as he reassesses life and explores what he thinks of the world, of himself and how this difficult time has influenced him and his new music.

Star Wars: Visions – Volume two

Following on the Emmy-nominated success of Star Wars: Visions, the latest volume of this animated anthology series will continue to push the boundaries of Star Wars storytelling, with nine new shorts from studios from around the globe. Employing the most captivating animation styles from a variety of countries and cultures, the second volume offers a dynamic new perspective on the storied mythos of Star Wars.

Star Wars: Young Jedi Adventures

Set 200 years before The Phantom Menace during the High Republic era, this animated series follows Jedi younglings Kai, Lys, and Nubs as they are sent by Master Yoda to train at a Jedi temple on the beautiful world of Tenoo under the tutelage of Master Zia. Together, they blast off on adventures across Tenoo and throughout the galaxy aboard the Crimson Firehawk with ace pilot Nash and her droid, RJ-83.

Together, they will help those in need, clash with villainous pirates, discover exotic creatures, but most importantly, they will learn what it means to be a good friend.

A Royal Night Out

May 8th, 1945, V.E. Day, a nation celebrates the victorious end to a long and costly war. Cloistered away in Buckingham Palace, two princesses peer out longingly at the adoring crowd who ready themselves for the biggest party London has ever seen.

Princess Elizabeth (Sarah Gadon) and her headstrong 15-year-old sister, Margaret (Bel Powley), would give anything to join them. As peace extends across Europe, the sisters are allowed out to join the celebrations for a night full of excitement, danger and the first flutters of romance.
