A deleted scene from The Muppet Christmas Carol will be restored in time for Christmas - much to fans' delight.
The adorable film, which features the likes of Miss Piggy and Kermit the Frog has stayed in the same format for 30 years.
But not any longer.
Jeffrey Katzenberg, who was chairman at Disney, reportedly cut a pivotal song from the adaptation of the Charles Dickens classic that many fans thought was lost for good.
The media mogul apparently thought the number was too sad and even thought of cutting 'Part of Your World' from The Little Mermaid before it premiered.
Luckily Ariel's number stayed in tact, but 'When Love Is Gone' was pulled from The Muppet Christmas Carol.
However, during the ultimate Disney event D23 Expo panel celebrating the film, it was announced that beautiful song will be reinstated.
The heartfelt number is performed by Belle played by Meredith Braun in the film, who is the former love of Ebenezer Scrooge - Michael Caine - during the Ghost of Christmas Past section of the story.
In the break-up song, Belle laments that Scrooge is entirely wrapped up in his work and no longer is the loving man she once knew.
The song reduces Scrooge to tears in a moment so beautiful, it's often considered to be among the best in Michael Caine's career. es.
There had long been a search to find the footage of the song, and a couple of years ago it was found and will be included in the film, which will premiere on Disney+ on December 11, 2022 — 30 years after the film's initial theatrical release.
The production has is a cult classic with many fans keen to know the secrets behind the scenes.
One of which is that the role of Scrooge was almost given to Bill & Ted's Excellent Adventure star George Carlin.
We're sure George would have done a cracking job, but we can't imagine anyone else apart from Michael in the role.
Sadly, The Muppet Christmas Carol was the first movie to be made without the creator, Jim Henson.
He passed away in 1990 at the age of 53, with film being released on December 11, 1992.
