The multiple Alfredo Morelos Rangers injury clues fans have been fretting over before Colombia absence

Worried Rangers supporters are facing a sweat after talismanic striker Alfredo Morelos suffered a "muscle overload" while on international duty with Colombia.

A bout of fatigue is no shock considering how much football El Bufalo has played domestically and in the Europa League.

Morelos has been scoring goals, creating assists and stunned Red Star Belgrade with Aleksander Dragovic admitting the all-action striker bounced him "five metres out the way."

The 25-year-old is the man who make Rangers tick in the biggest moments.

That's why there is a palpable sense of concern among followers of the Premiership champions with their blockbuster title dust-up with Celtic looming on April 3.

Morelos was ruled out of his country's 3-0 romp over Bolivia but Antena 2 report the national team are "awaiting his recover against Venezuela".

That might be merely lip service and you would imagine Rangers will be keen to get their key striker home at the earliest opportunity if he is toiling.

And while the news Morelos is facing an injury wait is a blow, it's no shock for a sizeable section of the Ibrox support who have been worried about their striker in recent weeks.

Morelos has been pictured stretching out his legs on multiple occasions during matches in recent weeks.

He received an ice pack on his lower leg after coming off during the 3-0 Scottish Cup romp at Dundee on March 13.

But there was more concern when he needed two rounds of treatment in the second leg of the Europa League last 16 clash with Red Star in Belgrade.

Morelos needed a buggy to exit the field but despite this setback he was back in the starting XI for a return to Dens Park for league duty on Sunday.

He won a penalty, however, it was muted display from a player who was also spotted with kinesiology tape strapped to his leg.

It's been clear Morelos has been managing himself in recent weeks and, perhaps, the decision to not feature against Bolivia was a pre-emptive one.

But what is without doubt is he remains vital to the way Gio van Bronckhorst's side play and his participation against Celtic is crucial for a side desperate to pip their great rivals to the title.
