There is some serious money to be made in Pokémon card collecting. Recently former NFL star Blake Martinez quit the sport after selling an ultra rare Pokémon card for over $600k.
The former Las Vegas Raiders linebacker who was an avid card collector said he was stepping away from the game to 'focus on his family and passions'. His sale made the first edition Pikachu Illustrator card from 1999 the second most expensive card sold for a whopping $672,000 (£570,000).

A statement, released on his Instagram said: "I’m announcing my retirement from the game of football! I had an amazing journey with some incredible franchises, and made lifelong friendships. I have chosen to step away from this career at this time to focus on my family and future passions! I am excited for this new journey and appreciate all the fans and organizations that have supported me throughout the years!"
