The moment Prince Harry's ex-girlfriend was cut from explosive new teaser of Netflix show

The new trailer for Prince Harry and Meghan Markle 's Netflix series dropped yesterday and it's already proving controversial.

In the second teaser for the docuseries promising to offer a 'vulnerable look' at the couple, Prince Harry claims stories are 'leaked and planted' in the press whilst the duchess is seen wiping away tears.

Eagle-eyed royal fans have picked up some 'discrepancies' in the trailers as the latest appears to show a clip from a court appearance of Katie Price and footage from a Harry Potter premiere.

In another moment, fans raised their eyebrows at one photo used in the new trailer that originally featured Harry with his ex-girlfriend.

In the photo, a younger Harry has his hand up to cover his face from paparazzi cameras. Although the photo looks to be the prince on his own, Harry had been beside ex Chelsy Davy.

The photo was taken as Harry, who was 22 at the time, tried to shield himself and Chelsy, then 21, from photographers as they left Heathrow Airport in 2007.

The couple met in 2004 and dated on and off until 2010, but reportedly remained good friends after their break-up.

Despite the original picture showing the Prince with his arm around his then-partner, Netflix producers cropped Chelsy out entirely from the frame.

The new trailer sees photos and footage of Harry and Meghan over the years as he tells viewers that 'no one knows the full truth' but them.

The duke also discusses life behind-the-scenes and the 'hierarchy' of the royal family.

Prince Harry was also vocal about the 'pain and suffering' that afflicts women who marry into the family - a likely reference to his mother Princess Diana who spoke candidly about her struggles.

The father-of-two said he was 'terrified' of history repeating itself after he lost his mum in a car crash when he was just 12.

The six episode series will cover Meghan and Harry's relationship, ranging from the early days of their courtship to the 'challenges and controversies' that prompted them to step back from the royal family.

The series will be split into two parts starting with the first half which drops this Thursday, December 8. The second instalment will air the following week on Thursday, December 15.
