The millions Man City can make from Champions League final win over Inter Milan

Manchester City will receive more than double their Champions League prizemoney should they beat Inter Milan in the final on Saturday night.

Pep Guardiola's side travel to Istanbul with history on their mind following last weekend's FA Cup triumph over Manchester United. The Wembley win secured the Blues their second trophy of the season having already clinched the Premier League.

If they win in Turkey, City would not only win their first Champions League but they would also complete the treble. This accomplishment has only been done once by an English side, United in 1999.

With history beckoning, the Blues will also land themselves a tidy sum of money whether they are victorious or not. City will cash in £17.2m if they win the game this weekend.

Should Inter lift the famous trophy, City will receive a consolation cheque of £13.4m. However, this does not take into account how much both sides have earned getting to this stage of the competition.

In the group stages, teams received £2.4m per win and £800,000 for a draw. Then if you are knocked out at the round of 16 you gain £8.2m, quarter finals will earn you £9.1m and semi-finals earns you £10.7m. Therefore, City have roughly earned £11.1m from the Champions League while Inter have gained £8m. As a further sweetener, both City and Inter will receive 25 per cent of the money collected from matchday ticket sales from the weekend showpiece.

Further money will be awarded to the winners through qualification for next season's European Super Cup which will see either City or Inter take on Europa League champions Sevilla. Based on the 2022 figures, the European Super Cup runners up received £3.2m while the victors gained £5m.
