While mid-term break is always a glorious time for school kids, in Ireland the weather can often mean less time outdoors playing games and more time stuck inside at home.
While kids are now kept occupied by numerous devices, back in the '90s the main source of indoor entertainment was the TV. And there were some amazing TV shows that we loved to watch.
Here we've put together a list of some of the best kids' school holiday shows from the '90s.

Saved By The Bell
Initially starting out in 1988 as Good Morning, Miss Bliss, the show was rebranded and new characters were added, becoming Saved By The Bell in 1989. The show follows the students at Bayside High School, in Los Angeles.
Whilst mainly a comedy following Zack Morris and his friends, later episodes would come to tackle drug use, drunk driving, homelessness and environmental issues.
The show ran until 1993, and a spin-off series and TV movies were made following Zack and friends through The College Years. More recently there was a 2020 reboot.
Screech star Dustin Diamond sadly died from stage four small cell carcinoma of the lungs in February 2021.
California Dreams
California Dreams was another Peter Engel show, very much in the same vein as Saved By the Bell. This show was aired in the UK and Ireland as part of Channel 4's The Bigger Breakfast brand during the school holidays.
The show ran for five seasons from 1992 until 1996 and featured the exploits of the California Dreams band and the trials and tribulations of being a teenager during these times.
The cast reunited back in 2010 as part of a Late Night With Jimmy Fallon episode.
The Monkees
Originally running from 1966 until 1968, The Monkees followed the adventures of the titular band as they try to make it big as a rock 'n' roll band.
The band, featuring Micky Dolenz, Michael Nesmith, Peter Tork and Davy Jones, captured the hearts of viewers, and the TV show gained a bigger cult following during repeats in the '80s and '90s.
The Nanny
The Nanny was a hit sitcom based around the character Fran Fine from Flushing, Queens in New York who becomes a nanny to the wealthy Sheffield family.
The show ran from 1993 to 1999 and starred Fran Drescher, who was also the creator and producer alongside her then-husband.
The comedy is said to take much of its inspiration from Drescher's personal life and often comments on the class divide in New York.
Sister, Sister
Sister, Sister had everything you could possible love about '90s TV - wacky hijinks, teenage drama, and of course twins separated at birth.
Tia and Tamera Mowry played twin girls who were kept apart as children but found each other as teenagers, with the whole family moving in together.
It sounds a bit mad but this show had some great comedy and a lovely central love story between Tia and Tamera's parents.
Sabrina the Teenage Witch
Sabrina the Teenage Witch first premiered in 1996 and ran for seven seasons until it ended 2003. Sabrina is sent to live with her two aunts after she discovers that she is a witch, leading to plenty of crazy comedy.
It had three spinoff movies including Sabrina the Teenage Witch , Sabrina Goes to Rome and Sabrina, Down Under.
The show starred Melissa Joan Hart who was already well-known thanks to her Nickelodeon series Clarissa Explains It All.
Since Melissa hung up her broomstick, she has had further success on TV with the sitcom Melissa & Joe co-starring Joey Lawrence.
