The Met Gala is here again and the world of glitz and glamour unites for what is the biggest event of the fashion calendar.
This year's bash at the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York on Monday (May 1) sees celebrities gather together to celebrate the life of the iconic Karl Lagerfeld.
However, the guest list put together by Anna Wintour appears to have had a number of surprising declines this year, with the likes of Blake Lively set to watch on from the comfort of her own home.
Those in attendance though are likely to put on a show for the watching world - and would have done so for a hefty price.
With the cameras set to beam their images across the globe, it's been revealed the famous faces have had to pay a whopping $30,000 for the privilege of attending the annual event.
That's the astronomical price an individual ticket for the gala is now going for as Vogue editor-in-chief Anna continues to put on a show to remember.
Those looking to have a table at the New York shindig, they're looking at an eye-watering $275,000.
However, not everyone has to pay the absurd costs with Anna known to pop out an invite to a number of up-and-coming designers, while some celebs miss out on the price if they have been specifically invited to wear a designer's work.
Despite the wager needed, there is said to even be a waitlist for those waiting for dropouts.
Vintage store owner Cameron Silver told Page Six in 2017: "I've known of society names who couldn't get a ticket and are prepped to go if there's a last-minute seat that becomes available.
"They have their look ready even if they aren't certain of whether they will actually have a seat days before the event.
It's said the number of people in attendance can vary, from 200-800 guests getting the nod.
However, anyone who rocks up must be over the age of 18. Confirmation of this rule came in 2018 after Maddie Ziegler announced she wasn't allowed to head along as she was only 15.
In response, the event's organiser told THR: "It's not an appropriate event for people under 18."
The age cap is a relatively new concept, with the likes of Jaden and Willow Smith attending in 2016, aged 17 and 15 respectively.
The set age limit seems to have a slight loophole, though, with younger fashionistas gifted a reprieve if their parents are also there.
