The Masked Singer's Rita Ora makes 'agonising' error over Rhino's identity

Rita Ora came 'agonisingly' close to exposing the star many people believe is Rhino on The Masked Singer, before going in a completely different direction.

The new series of the crazy ITV guessing game continued on Saturday night when, for the first time this year, all of this year's characters performed on the same show. After the likes of Knitting, Otter, Phoenix and Fawn had all performed, Rhino closed the episode with a rendition of I Just Can't Wait to be King from The Lion King., once again sounding a LOT like Charlie Simpson from Busted.

As soon as he hit the first chorus of Snow Patrol's Chasing Cars on his debut, scores of viewers rushed to Twitter to declare that Rhino is Charlie and there were plenty doing exactly the same this weekend.

After his latest star turn, the Masked Singer panel had their saw on who Rhino could be. Guesses from Rita's co-stars included Alfie Boe, Tyson Fury and Jason Orange and it looked like the Anywhere singer had got one over on them when she said "Charlie," only to then say Puth, rather than Simpson.

Viewers were quick to react to her near correct answer on Twitter, with one posting: "Rita Ora: “I think it could be Charlie…” *literally every single Busted fan* “SIMPSON!!!” Rita: “… Puth” Nevermind @RitaOra" and a second tweeting: "Not Rita guessing the wrong Charlie. Charlie Puth does not have that voice"

As well as his very distinctive vocals, a big clue that Rhino is Charlie appeared in his latest VT: a sign with 'danger rising water' on it, which could well be a nod to the famous 'not much has changed but they live underwater' line from Busted's Year 3000. Other fans correctly remembered that Charlie's wedding reception was themed around Kenya, the country The Lion King takes inspiration from.
