This week’s edition of The Masked Singer once again had viewers on the edge of their seats as they guessed which celebrities were behind the mask. The popular ITV show, hosted by comedian Joel Dommett, had already seen sports pundit Chris Kamara unmasked as Ghost.
In this week’s episode, it was Piece of Cake’s turn to be unmasked and judges Jonathan Ross, Davina McCall, Mo Gilligan and Rita Ora had some wild guesses as to who was behind the mask. While fans were quick to suggest who they thought it might be (they were also in agreement on the identities of Jacket Potato and Pigeon, the judges were stumped.
In fact, it was Scottish songstress Lulu who was Piece of Cake, which many viewers had suggested already on social media. Following her unmasking, several people were shocked that the judges had failed to guess who it was.

“That had to be the most obvious one they’ve ever done. Lulu’s voice is so recognizable,” wrote one person. A second added: “Knew that was Lulu by a mile.”
A third person took their anger out on the judges, who had voted out Lulu from the competition. They wrote: “@MaskedSingerUK disgusted that Lulu was voted off and the other 2 kept in, not only that but the judges couldn't get it was her?! Come on, seriously?!” This was echoed by someone else, who said: “How can the judges send home the best singer AND fail to spot that it’s Lulu?”
Upon being voted out, Lulu highlighted how she is a fan of the show. The ‘well clue’ in her clues package referenced the way that the singer says the word in the song, ‘Shout’. There were also references to the fact that the 74-year-old sings the James Bond song, ‘The Man with the Golden Gun’.
