Pillar and Post have been forced to quit The Masked Dancer due to injury, with their identities then revealed by host Joel Dommett.
The pair immediately sparked a wealth of curiosity when they gave their first performance a few weeks ago, with viewers throwing all sorts of names into the ring as to who they could be, with plenty of people watching at home were convinced that Pillar and Post were Coronation Street star Samia Longchambon and her Dancing on Ice husband Sylvain.
Another guess was David Seaman and his wife Frankie, another pro skater from Dancing on Ice and it turned out that it was indeed the England goalkeeping legend and his other wife that were the dancers in disguise, although their identities weren't revealed in the way they'd have been hoping or expecting.
In the opening moments of Saturday's Masked Dancer, presenter Joel broke the news to fans that Pillar and Post would be playing no further part in the competition, after Pillar (Frankie) suffered a nasty injury.
He explained: "Sadly, Pillar took a tumble during rehearsals and I am absolutely gutted to tell you that on medical advice they have had to withdraw from the competition.”
After the panel - Jonathan Ross, Oti Mabuse, Davina McCall and Peter Crouch - had shared their final guesses as to who they thought was behind the masks, Pillar & Post were revealed to be David and Frankie and, in a statement, she said: We were gutted as we absolutely loved every minute! It was great fun but a tumble meant our Masked journey came to an end too soon, we had such a blast and we were sad that we had to hang up our masks without being able to share our final dance with you all!
"We have loved being part of this series and we wish the other competitors the best of luck as we continue to watch at home and try to guess who all the other celebrities are!”
An ITV spokesperson confirmed: “Due to an injury sustained during rehearsals Pillar has had to withdraw from the competition, we wish her a speedy recovery.”
