With the big Marshmello / Showtime concert event just days away, the Fortnite Item Shop has become a DJ bonanza.
Not only is the Marshmello skin for sale, there’s also a Mello Rider glider and two new emotes: The Marsh Walk and Bobbin’.
Along with Marshmello, there’s DJ Bop (the female Llama DJ counterpart to DJ Yonder) as well as the Nitelite Outfit, Drop the Bass emote and the the Glow Rider glider. Rounding out the colorful, musical Item Shop is the Spectral Axe.
All of this paves the way for Saturday’s big event—a live concert that Marshmello (aka Christopher Comstock) has even added to his tour schedule.
Here’s the Epic Marshmello Outfit:
Apparently the skin lights up when you use musical emotes. I haven’t taken it for a spin yet but I will.
Here’s the Epic Mello Rider:
The Marsh Walk emote is Rare. Solving one of tomorrow’s challenges will get you the Keep it Mello emote for free. There’s a third challenge that will round out the entire Marshmello set with a pickaxe featuring Marshmello’s iconic head. Truly, this is a good time for Marshmello fans.
(I’ll be honest: I’d never heard of Marshmello before this. I guess it’s not my cup of tea . . . but I’m still enjoying this whole fun, funky event.)
Finally, here’s a sample of Marshmello’s music:
I’m actually a little surprised that Epic isn’t releasing a special Marshmello music track for the home screen. Maybe they will . . . .
In any case, stay tuned for more. We’ll be covering the new Showtime event challenges with guides and this whole wacky event. It’s quite the collaboration. I hope we see many more like it, replete with challenges, cosmetics and a full-blown event. Whether future ones are concerts, sports events or something else entirely, well, the world is Epic’s oyster.
