The 'magical' West Country beach complete with waterfalls and Victorian bathing pool dubbed mini 'Hawaii'

It has been warmer than Spain in some parts of the UK this week, which means many people have been spending time near the sea.

While the West Country is blessed with stunning coastlines, this can result in destinations becoming overcrowded. For those looking for a secluded beach that boasts equally beautiful scenery, Woody Bay, in Devon, could be the perfect spot for you.

It can only be accessed by a zig-zagged path that crosses through woodland. It offers breathtaking waterfalls and even has a Victorian bath pool.

Sharing a video of the beach on Instagram, CJexplores said: "Isn’t it magical!? Located in North Devon, on Exmoor NP’s coastline. There’s a small car park near a path that leads to the beach.

"The path zig-zags down through woodland & is fairly steep! (Approx. 20 mins down/ 30 mins uphill). There are no facilities or lifeguards so you’ll need to bring & take everything with you (please leave no trash etc).

Amassing thousands of likes, tourists couldn't wait to visit. One person wrote: "Can’t believe this is England!"

Another said: "Wow! Looks like Hawaii", a third penned: "I would have never expected this in the UK! So beautiful."

And the spot is equally as popular with TripAdvisor reviewers. One person wrote: "A beautiful little bay nestled amongst ancient twisted oak trees. A stunning walk down from the top carpark is well worth the effort and an excellent opportunity to improve your fitness on the way back up! The pictures sum it up….. tranquil, serene & an amazing location."

Another penned: "Amazing place to visit, a long walk down and certainly back up but well worth it. Take a picnic and relax on the beach. Check out the waterfall, it's stunning.

"Do your research on the place before you go and then when there hunt for the parts the history mention. Fabulous little gem"
