Camden is getting a new rooftop venue just in time for the summer.

The Lucky Club Camden — a sister site to the Mayfair branch — will launch on May 13, promising a 5,600sq ft, 130-cover space serving up Mexican-inspired food and drink.

The venue, which will land within Camden Market, is set to be a year-round affair, with a retractable roof and heaters on hand for any inclement weather.

Specialising in margaritas, offering no fewer than seven variations of the cocktail, from a frozen naranjarita (tequila, mandarin, lime and agave) to a pepino margarita (tequila, Cointreau, fresh cucumber juice, lime, agave and salt), the bar will also serve a selection of mezcal drinks.

The menu will focus on tacos — from a cheeseburger-style creation, with ground beef, emmental cheese and diced gherkin, to a lobster option, poached in butter and served with truffle mayo and bacon pieces — as well as tostadas, including a coconut ceviche offering.

From 5-6pm, Monday to Thursday, the bar will run its so-called “lucky hour”, where guests will be able to roll the dice and, if they score a seven, get a cocktail on the house.

Elsewhere, the music will come courtesy of a Funktion One sound system, the manufacturer favoured by many of London’s top clubs.

The venue is the latest venture from Hartshorn Hook Enterprises, whose previous projects include the immersive Great Gatsby experience in the West End.

"This launch has been a long time coming. Originally scheduled for summer, then pushed back to winter 2021, finally we’re opening this May,” said Louis Hartshorn, co-founder of the Lucky Club. “We’re thrilled to see London slowly coming back to life and it’s a real joy to be part of the resurgence of London’s social scene. The Lucky Club Camden is going to be an exciting new addition to north London’s skyline.”
