The Lowry Outlet's Vue cinema is currently closed while the changes are made to all seven screens.

Every single standard seat is being replaced with what's described as a 'luxurious padded leather recliner'.

Each one comes with a table you can pull over to hold your drink and snacks.

It's the second Vue site in Greater Manchester to get the new seats. They've already been installed at the Bolton branch at the Middlebrook and Retail Leisure Park where they've been a big hit with film lovers.

It means an end to the £5 tickets that have been available for all films, but cinema bosses say 'tickets will be competitively priced at £7.99 all day, every day'.

Darren Tinsley, general manager of Vue Lowry, said: “The new leather recliner seats really enhance the big screen viewing experience, and we’re incredibly pleased to see the progress being made.

“We’re excited to welcome our guests to relax, unwind and enjoy the best in big screen entertainment for just £7.99.”

The cinema, inside Lowry Outlet, will also host regular showings of big screen events including live theatre, opera, dance, sport, and musical performances. Prices for these could be higher.

Tickets are now available to buy on the Vue website .
