When it comes to takeaways, pizza is up there on the list of family favourites.
But do you know the food hygiene score of your regular pizza places?
According to the latest ratings, these shops in the North East are not quite up to scratch.
Here we have listed the pizza takeaways in Newcastle, County Durham, Sunderland, Northumberland, Gateshead, South and North Tyneside that scored either zero, one or two out of five.
One star means "major improvement necessary" and two means "improvement necessary" while a five is given to sites where hygiene standards are "very good".
The ratings below were taken from the Food Standards Agency (FSA) website as they appeared on March 17, 2021.
The venues listed may be awaiting re-inspection and some of them may not have remained open during the pandemic.
There were two pizza shops in Northumberland with a zero rating - a zero means "urgent improvement is required".
The rating scheme, run in partnership with councils, helps people to make more informed choices about where to buy and eat food.
All ratings were correct as of March 17, 2021.
