- A 56-year-old man has died in hospital following a serious crash in Victoria's north-east. Two trucks collided on the Hume Highway near Violet Town yesterday afternoon — the other driver, a 53-year-old man from NSW, remains in hospital in a critical condition
- Masks will no longer be mandatory on public transport across NSW from tomorrow (but will still have to be worn in hospitals and nursing homes). Premier Dominic Perrottet says it's a commonsense approach and is in line with other states
- The Tasmanian branch of the Australian Education Union is set to hold a two-hour strike next week, calling for improved working and learning conditions in public schools ...

- The International Atomic Energy Agency says a backup power line used to supply Ukraine's Zaporizhzhia nuclear power plant with electricity for essential operations has been disconnected, but the plant remains connected to a main power line which was restored last week
