Is your head spinning from this football news cycle this week?
Ours too. Pete Carroll is out of a head coaching job in Seattle with the Seahawks. Bill Belichick just ended his astounding, all-time great run with the New England Patriots. And although Belichick may continue coaching, it’s a reminder that both Carroll just ended a 14-year tenure in Seattle, and Belichick’s nearly three decades in Massachusetts are over.
So … who are the longest tenured NFL coaches as of now, with those two out? Glad you asked! Here’s a look at the list of the top names who have stayed with their teams:
1
Mike Tomlin, Pittsburgh Steelers: 17 years

2
John Harbaugh, Baltimore Ravens: 16 years

3
Andy Reid, Kansas City Chiefs: 11 years

4
Sean McDermott, Buffalo Bills; Sean McVay, Los Angeles Rams; Kyle Shanahan, San Francisco 49ers: 7 years

5
Zac Taylor, Cincinnati Bengals; Matt LaFleur, Green Bay Packers: 5 years
