There are plenty of ways to bring warmth and charm into the home but there's one accessory you can always count on – a rug. Bringing tactile texture, comfort and beautiful color and pattern to a room, a rug can also help to cleverly zone a space.
Adding to this year's rug trends, vintage-lover Drew Michael Scott (or Lone Fox) has collaborated with homeware brand Joon Loloi to create a bespoke collection of soft furnishings, inspired by his love for the past. 'The inspiration behind my collection comes primarily from antique tiles and the natural, weathered colors they acquire over time', says Drew. 'When I bought my 1929 Spanish-style home, my design approach evolved to embrace a deeper appreciation for antiques and vintage pieces. The unique tiles and patterns that were integral to the renovation of my home became a key influence. I wanted to capture the rich, worn-in textures and colors of these antique tiles and bring that same timeless, lived-in aesthetic into new spaces. By translating those patterns and shades into rugs, I’m able to evoke the warmth, history, and charm that antique elements can bring to a room.'

Drew opts for the Hancock rug in his snug room. Taking inspiration from the classic chequerboard pattern, he's reimagined the style and given it a contemporary twist. The Hancock rug works particularly well in rooms lacking print, giving a space a strong dose of geometric goodness.
This rug feels particularly personal to Drew. He's lifted the image directly from the 17th-century Belgian tapestry hanging in his living room. Place in an entryway or on a bare wall for a historic, eclectic touch.
Inspired by antique tapestries, the Hepburn pillow is elegant in both pattern and shape. Place at the center of a bed or on an armchair for an instant hit of vintage charm.

About the collection
'For me, rugs are the foundation and soul of a room,' says Drew. 'They play a pivotal role in setting the tone and atmosphere of a space. When I design, a rug is often the leading point that I tend to design around and that truly brings the room together. A rug has this magical ability to unite color palettes, harmonize textures and define zones within an open space. It’s more than just a decorative element – it adds warmth and comfort, grounding the furniture and enhancing the overall flow of the room.
Whether it’s bold and vibrant or subtle and neutral, a rug makes the space feel inviting, lived-in and thoughtfully curated. Without it, a room can feel incomplete or disjointed. Not to mention, it’s one of my favorite decor elements to add.'
'My personal style is deeply embedded in this collaboration, and I feel like it shines through in every aspect', Drew says. 'All the rugs were photographed in my home in Los Angeles, which I believe perfectly captures the essence of my design aesthetic. It was amazing to see how seamlessly the rugs fit into the different rooms of my house. They not only complemented the overall vibe of my space but also enhanced it in ways that felt natural and effortless.'
'I wanted to create something I was genuinely excited about – a collection that feels authentic to my design philosophy and lifestyle', he says. 'It was important for me to craft rugs that I would proudly incorporate into my own home, and it was such a rewarding experience to watch them transform the rooms. Each rug embodies a little piece of my vision, and seeing them come to life in my space was a true reflection of the personal touch I wanted to bring to this collaboration.'
'I wanted to blend vintage motifs with geometric lines because they complement each other in such a unique way. Vintage patterns bring warmth, history, and a timeless charm, while geometric lines add a modern, structured feel. The combination of both creates a balance between the old and the new, the organic and the precise. It’s about offering versatility – whether you're drawn to the softness of vintage-inspired designs or the clean, bold nature of geometric patterns, there's something for everyone,' says Drew.
