A West Country restaurant has just been named of the best riverside venues in the UK, according to the Times.
Shell Bay in Studland offers diners incredible local seafood and an ever-changing menu with a stunning view of Poole Harbour and canopies for when the British weather lets us down, reports Dorset Live. And The Times has now named the eatery in the top 30 riverside restaurants and bars.
Situated on the edge of the Isle of Purbeck, The Time describes it as having "gorgeous views over Poole Harbour, Brownsea Island and Sandbanks, makes a picturesque setting for this upmarket seafood restaurant and bistro with alfresco dining as well as tables indoors.

Diners can "feast on local oysters and lobster or sea bass cooked over an open fire from a regularly changing menu of local and seasonal produce."
And locals also rave about the venue being one of the best spots in the world for a beer. Booking is essential, especially as sometimes the restaurant has to close in bad weather, but as it is summer they are open seven days a week for the next few months, so all the more chance to get your hands on their latest menu.
TripAdvisor reviewers seemed equally as impressed. One person wrote: "Exquisite food and exceptional service! The food was amazing and the service by the lovely Liverpudlian waiter brought the whole experience up another level! This is a special occasion restaurant - its not cheap, but you most certainly get what you pay for."
Another wrote: "First meal this new season at Shell Bay .The amazing views have not changed ! The Scallops were amazing as was my seafood curry."
