It's been five years since the #MeToo movement shook Hollywood to its core. Though it began in the US film industry, it started a worldwide conversation about sexism, sexual harassment and misogyny. To talk about how things have changed, the FRANCE 24 programme about women, the 51% and culture, Encore! joined up for a special show to talk about the legacy of #Metoo, a hashtag that started a revolution.
Presenters Erin Ogunkeye and Eve Jackson speak to French film producer Vanessa Djian and Variety magazine's Senior international film editor Elsa Keslassy in the studio, as well as Glamour magazine's Lucy Morgan from London and Dr. Caroline Heldman from Los Angeles, who was part of our 2018 documentary about women in Hollywood that we made six months after #Metoo began. We discuss the past five years and all the work still left to do.
