Leeds United first team squad players who could play part vs Bolton Wanderers

Bolton Wanderers will be aiming to book their place in the next round of the Papa Johns Trophy when they take on Leeds United's under-21s tomorrow.

The Whites return to the University of Bolton Stadium for the second time in the space of four days to take on the Premier League side's young guns. They host Leeds' under-21s in their final group game in the competition in a 7pm kick-off.

Ian Evatt's side currently sit top of the Northern Group B. It follows a victory over Crewe Alex and a penalty shootout defeat following a draw last month versus Tranmere Rovers.

Leeds' youngsters beat Tranmere 5-3 at Prenton Park in their sole game in the competition so far. The Premier League young guns still have to take on Wanderers and Crewe in the group stage and are in the hunt for the next round certainly.

Leeds were in Premier League action yesterday at Elland Road, losing 1-0 to Arsenal. It is a fairly quick turnaround for the Yorkshire side, who are on the road to Leicester City in the top flight on Thursday evening.

Though Jesse Marsch may want his first team squad fresh for the clash against the Foxes, there is a chance that some could be given some minutes under their belts after not featuring much against the Gunners. A few could be on the team sheet against Bolton.

Joe Gelhardt, who joined from Wigan Athletic in 2020, came on in the dying minutes of the loss to Mikel Arteta's side. The 20-year-old played and scored twice in the win over Tranmere earlier this month, so he may feature once again.

Second choice goalkeeper Kristoffer Klaesson, an unused substitute versus Arsenal, played against the Wirral side too in the 5-3 win. He could feature for Leeds tomorrow evening, while former Everton and Wigan stopper Joel Robles is an option too.

Defender Leo Hjelde has a handful of appearances for the Yorkshire side and is an option to feature. Summer signing Wilfried Gnonto, who joined Leeds on deadline day from FC Zurich, played against Tranmere and could get the nod again.

Sam Greenwood, who would be expected to play a part, will be missing from the clash due to suspension after being sent off against Tranmere. He was on the bench against Arsenal on Sunday.

Cody Drameh started at right-back in the win over Tranmere and could be in line to play against Bolton. He has seven first team appearances to his name for the Leeds first team, while Darko Gyabi started too the victory over Tranmere and has been on the bench for a few Premier League games this campaign.
