A Leeds hairdressers has launched a "pay whatever you can" offer to help those struggling over Christmas.
As the cost of living crisis continues to affect families across the city, getting a haircut is one luxury that many have had to cut out. SL Hair, based in Roundhay, is now "giving back to our community" to ensure everyone can get a trim this winter.
It will work like a pay-as-you go system, meaning people can pay for their haircuts in instalments. In order to receive a ‘pay what you can appointment’, those interested will need to call the salon directly as the option is not currently available online.

A spokesperson for SL Hair, based in Lidgett Lane, said: "Introducing our brand new pay as you can scheme. Every Tuesday and Wednesday we will have some appointments available for cuts where you are able to pay whatever you can.
"With costs everywhere rising this is our little way to give back to our local community. Please feel free to comment below if you have any questions."
After sharing the news on Instagram, @sense_of_occasion said: "What an amazing thing to do. I'm sure so many people will appreciate this."
@houseofcolouruk said the idea is "amazing". When the user asked SL Hair what the lowest limit people are able to pay is, the owner said: "We won't be having a limit. It really is pay as you can."
The salon also offers "no small talk" for customers who would prefer not to chat while getting treatments. For more information click here.
