The Lathums announce huge headline gig at Castlefield Bowl

A fast-rising, indie four-piece from Wigan has announced their biggest show to date will take place in Manchester this summer as part of the Castlefield Bowl gig series. The Lathums have announced their show, which comes ahead of the release of their new album, ‘From Nothing To A Little Bit’, which will be released in March.

The Wigan lads will return to Manchester’s Castlefield Bowl as headliners on Friday, June 30, two years after appearing as special guests for Snow Patrol. Tickets for the huge open-air celebration with 8,000 fans will go on sale on Friday, February 3.

The band, made up of singer and guitarist Alex Moore, lead guitarist Scott Concepcion, bassist Matty Murphy and drummer Ryan Durrans formed in April 2018 having met at The Music Project in Pemberton. Their Castlefield Bowl headline show is regarded as a natural next step for fans who have witnessed their ascent from small venues and pubs to headlining venues including Manchester’s 02 Victoria Warehouse and Blackpool Empress Ballroom.

The four-piece, whose debut album, ‘How Beautiful Life Can Be’, knocked Canadian rapper Drake off the top of the UK charts in October 2021, also toured European arena stages last year in support of The Killers and Kasabian, as well as heading out on their debut US tour.

In December, the band also announced a brief return to their roots with a run of intimate live pub dates starting in Glasgow on Monday, February 6, in conjunction with a previously announced Spring 2023 tour, which includes another stop off in Manchester on Saturday, March 11 at the Albert Hall.

The band’s most recent single ‘Struggle’, an honest and full-hearted opening track from their forthcoming second album, which will be released on March 3, follows up from their hugely successful 2021 debut record. Building on their success, their more mature, brutally honest second album will be released in a range of formats, including standard black vinyl, limited fan-only coloured variants and a double-vinyl package.

The Lathums Live at Castlefield Bowl will take place on Friday, June 30. Tickets for the gig go on sale at 9.30am on Friday, February 3.
