A robber, a stalking partner and a 60-year-old pervert all faced justice in the most recent cases before Nottingham Crown Court. Court reporter Rebecca Sherdley takes a look back on the criminals who made the headlines.
Police said a 16-year-old was only inches away from being slashed across the face with a knife during a terrifying robbery in Southglade Park, Bestwood, on January 27. Ryan Atkin, 34, of Leybourne Drive, Bestwood, was jailed for three years and four months at Nottingham Crown Court on Friday, August 26, after admitting two charges of robbery. And stalking partner Aaron Hodgkinson, 25, of Raithby Close, Bestwood, carried out a horrific attack on a mother-of-one, then hounded her with abusive and threatening voice notes. Hodgkinson was jailed for 22 months when he appeared at Nottingham Crown Court on Tuesday, August 30.

He had pleaded guilty to having the Stanley knife, assault, causing bodily harm, stalking with fear of violence between January 11 and May 20 this year, and assaulting an emergency worker. Read the full story here
Pervert Keith Hogan, 60, of Patricia Drive, Arnold, appeared in court after he set out armed with contraception and a sex toy with the belief he was meeting a 13-year-old girl he had chatted to online. He admitted attempting to engage in sexual communication with a child, attempting to cause a child to watch a sexual act and attempting to meet a girl under 16 years after sexual grooming.
His sentence included a sexual harm prevention order, to sign the sex offenders' register for five years, a three-year community order, a sex offender accredited programme for 43 days as well as complete 60 rehabilitation activity days. Read the full story here
Over at Derby Crown Court, six people were jailed over their role in a prolific drugs gang in Shirebrook.

And defendant Dwaine McDonald learned his fate after he used violence towards five women and attempted to use violence towards another victim during incidents between February 13 and February 16 this year.
McDonald, of Basford Road, Old Basford, pleaded guilty to two counts of robbery and four counts of attempted robbery. He also pleaded guilty to an overnight house burglary in the Old Basford area. McDonald was sentenced to an indefinite hospital order when he appeared at Nottingham Crown Court for sentencing on Wednesday, August 24. Read the full story here
Thief James Smith, 34, of no fixed abode, pleaded guilty to 15 counts of stealing from Retford shops.
He was sentenced to nine months in prison. Read the full story here
And police released an image of prolific shoplifter Adam Glasby, 46, of High Street in Mansfield Woodhouse, after he was sentenced for stealing meat, booze and chocolates from his local Morrisons.
Glasby was jailed for a total of 11 months for four admitted charges of theft at his local shop, and for breaching two suspended prison sentences. Read the full story here
