A Met Office thunderstorm warning for the majority of Wales has been issued for Sunday as thousands of people are making plans for the last day of Jubilee celebrations and football fans are preparing to watch Wales' crunch match against Ukraine. The yellow warning started at midnight and is place through to 6pm Sunday afternoon.
Areas of heavy rain and thunderstorms that broke out over England and Wales during the early hours of Sunday, moved into the UK from the near-continent. The resulting areas of rain and thunderstorms are expected to be more extensive than those of Friday night and early Saturday.
It comes after homes were flooded after a storm brought a month's worth of rain in just three hours to the Gwynedd town of Criccieth on Friday. Firefighters had to be called in to divert water in the town as drains were blocked and roads closed.

Morning forecast
The Met Office forecast for Wales says that it will feel cooler than it has of late with a maximum temperature of 16°C today.
The forecast adds: "It will be cloudy with outbreaks of rain which will be heavy at times and possibly thundery also. Possibly turning drier in the south later."

Met Office Chief Meteorologist, Dan Suri, says: “More places within the warning area on Sunday are likely to see heavy rain and thunderstorms. Where thunderstorms do occur impacts from heavy rain and frequent lightning strikes are possible.
“A few places could see 15 – 20mm of rain within an hour, with a small chance of 50mm in an hour, most likely over parts of the Midlands, southeast England and East Anglia whilst the risk of thunderstorms over the northern part of the warning is smaller.
"Then, during Sunday afternoon new showers, some heavy and thundery, are likely over the southern or so third of the UK. If you’re planning outside events for Sunday, please keep a regular eye on the forecast for your area for any updates.”
In London, Platinum Jubilee celebrations will draw to a close with a colourful street pageant that starts at 2.30pm. Some 10,000 people including a cast of 6,000 performers are involved in staging the 3km carnival procession from Horse Guards, along Whitehall to Admiralty Arch and down The Mall to Buckingham Palace.

The Met Office forecast for Wales this evening says: "Locally heavy outbreaks of rain will continue this evening, but will gradually clear eastwards overnight. Remaining cloudy by dawn with a little light rain still possible. Minimum temperature 7 °C."
For the rest of the week, the Met Office says that the weather remains unsettled with the continued chance of rain and showers moving in from the west, though there will be sunny spells at times with north-west Scotland continuing to see the best of the weather.
