Professor Donald Peter MCMANUS
Don passed away following a short illness at his home in Brisbane Australia on 9 November 2022. One of the world's leading scientists in neglected tropical diseases, Don's 50-year career began in his hometown of Swansea prior to his appointment to the Queensland Institute of Medical Research Berghofer in 1989. Don was a keen sportsman and played and captained the London Welsh Dragons in the 1970s and early 1980s. He will be sadly missed by his wife of 41 years, Hawys, and his beloved family as well as the international science community. Don was devoted to his family, a dedicated scientist and a gentle man - he was much loved and respected for his brilliance and his kindness.
