NSW
Just over 10,000 new COVID-19 cases have been identified in New South Wales over the past day.
There were 2,265 people in hospital with the virus and the state reported 25 people with COVID-19 had lost their lives.
It is a notable increase in both cases and deaths compared to yesterday, when NSW Health reported 7,648 new cases and four deaths.
NT
Three people are being treated for COVID in ICU in the Northern Territory, with 216 people hospitalised in total.
The Territory has recorded 216 new cases of COVID-19, but no deaths linked to the virus have been reported in the last day.
It takes the number of known active cases to 1,658.
QLD
Queensland has recorded 4,141 new COVID-19 cases in the past day, taking the state's number of known active cases to 34,992.
Another 24 people with the virus have died and more than 700 people are in hospital.
That's up from 667 COVID-related hospitalisations yesterday.
TAS
Tasmania has recorded 650 new COVID cases with two people being treated for the virus in intensive care.
The state's death toll since 2020 has risen by three overnight, bringing it to a total of 159.
There are 84 people hospitalised with the virus statewide.
VIC
Another 44 people in Victoria have lost their lives with COVID in the latest reporting period.
It comes as the state records 6,380 new cases, with health authorities aware of more than 40,000 known active cases at the moment.
Victoria recorded just one COVID-related death yesterday.
ACT
Four more people with COVID-19 have died in Canberra.
ACT Health announced the deaths this morning. The cases were a man in his 30s, a woman in her 90s and two men in their 90s.
The ACT also recorded another 498 COVID-19 infections.
There are 146 people with the virus in hospital. Four of those patients are in intensive care, with three requiring ventilation.
There are currently 3,413 active COVID cases in the territory.
SA
South Australia has recorded 1,853 cases today.
There are 341 people with COVID-19 in hospital in SA, with 11 of them in intensive care and two requiring ventilation.
Four deaths were recorded today.
WA
Western Australia has reported 2,965 new cases today, with a total of 17,306 cases statewide.
The latest figures show there are 358 people with COVID-19 in hospital and 11 in intensive care.
There have been no deaths in WA overnight.
