The latest average house price in every area of Greater Manchester

In a region as big as Greater Manchester, which has a huge mix of both urban and rural areas, you can expect house prices to fluctuate. Across each of the region's 10 boroughs, there are an array of different areas each with their own unique towns and villages, causing house prices to vary hugely from one borough to the next.

On a whole, the average house price in Greater Manchester currently stands at £240,951, according to Rightmove. However when you look at the typical price of homes in the region's most expensive areas such as Hale and Bowdon in Trafford, in comparison to the cheapest areas like Platt Bridge and Ince in Wigan, the difference in affordability is staggering.

Here we have put together an up-to-date list of the average property prices across the main areas in each of the region's 10 boroughs, using data from the HM Land Registry.

Bolton

Homes across Bolton have an average house price of £200,290. The majority of sales in the borough over the last year were terraced properties, selling for an average price of £138,421.

Overall, house prices in the borough were up by 8% on the previous year. The most expensive area to buy a home in Bolton is Heaton, and the cheapest is Farnworth.

House prices in Bury have gone up by 21% since the 2019 peak, where the average price of a home back then was £192,994. Ramsbottom is currently the most expensive part of the borough to live, and Radcliffe is the cheapest.

House prices in the borough have gone up by 4% since 2021 and 21% up on the 2019 peak of £313,617. The priciest area to buy ahome is Bowdon and the cheapest is Partington.
