With the official 2024 NFL Draft first round order set, the mock drafts are coming in fast and furious.
And now we wonder: Will there be more than three quarterbacks taken in the first round in April?
In the latest NFL mock draft from our Christian D’Andrea, he has just three: North Carolina’s Drake Maye, Caleb Williams out of USC and LSU’s Jayden Daniels. But with some buzz over Oregon’s Bo Nix and Michigan’s J.J. McCarthy, they got taken in the latest Sports Illustrated mock — McCarthy goes to the Broncos and Nix goes to the Raiders.
Here’s Luke Easterling’s take on the latter:
After another injury to Jimmy Garoppolo, the Raiders were forced to ride with rookie Aidan O’Connell for the majority of the 2023 season. They have a ton of needs elsewhere, but their desperation for an upgrade at quarterback could point them to Nix here. He’s an older prospect (turning 24 later this month), but he brings a ton of starting experience that would help his transition to the next level.
