The last time Leeds United went four Premier League games unbeaten as Whites presented with opportunity

Leeds United will be looking to stretch their unbeaten run to four matches when they travel to Watford this weekend. The Whites have picked up seven points from a possible nine available after beating Wolverhampton Wanderers and Norwich City, before the Whites drew 1-1 with Southampton last Saturday.

It is a set of results that have put Leeds on the brink of securing Premier League safety and a victory over the Hornets at Vicarage Road will all but secure that. The Whites won the reverse fixture 1-0 back in October thanks to Diego Llorente's first-half strike.

Meanwhile, Roy Hodgson is still looking for his first home win in charge since his appointment back in January. The Hornets haven't won a league game at 'The Vic' in five months but still have a fighting chance of staying in the top-flight depending on Burnley, Everton and Leeds.

However, the Whites could go four league games without a loss for the first time since May 2021 if they avoid defeat on Saturday. Leeds have previously gone three matches unbeaten this season, but have always lost after that mini-run, presenting them with an opportunity to hit an 11-month drought.

Four successive victories at the end of last season helped Leeds end in ninth - their highest finish in 19 years. They secured wins over Tottenham Hotspur, Burnley, Southampton and West Bromwich Albion, scoring 12 goals in the process and a handful of Leeds fans got to watch the final game against the Baggies at Elland Road.

Leeds' longest unbeaten run last term was six games and they were able to build some consistency throughout the side - something they have struggled to do this time around. The Whites are 17 points worse off than this time last campaign but Jesse Marsch has been able to build some momentum around the club.

The American has made Leeds harder to beat and were unfortunate not to get anything out of their trip to Leicester City in his first game in charge of the club. The 3-0 defeat to Aston Villa was the only game the Whites were convincingly beaten in, but Marsch could re-write some history if Leeds don't lose this weekend.
