The story of The Beatles is equally one of tragedy as it is one of musical brilliance.
The world reeled as John Lennon was gunned down on a New York balcony in 1980 at the age of 40. Tragically, members of the band were not on the best of terms when this took place, leaving heaps of regret in the hearts of Paul, George, and Ringo.
George Harrison died in 2001 after a battle with lung cancer, aged just 58. The lead guitarist of the Fab Four shared some of his thoughts on his former bandmate in the decades after John's untimely death.

Upon hearing the news of John's shooting, Harrison didn't fully comprehend his emotions, he said: “Well, at first I thought he maybe just got wounded. It’s hard to accept or to believe at first.
"But it’s no different really to anybody having news about anybody they know. I’m sure a lot of people were just as shocked as I was about John Lennon or about your prime minister for that matter. It is all nasty business when people get shot.”
Speaking on the last time the pair met, Harrison said: "I was in New York at his house, at the Dakota’s. He was nice, just sort of running around the house making dinner.
"He was actually playing a lot of Indian music, which surprised me, because he always used to be like a little bit (annoyed) when I was playing it. So he had hundreds of cassettes of all kinds of stuff, he grew into it.”
