The Last of Us Part 1 gets a free trial to celebrate the HBO series

Everyone is going gaga over HBO’s The Last of Us series, and the new remaster is free to try for a limited time.

Right now, PlayStation Plus Premium subscribers can try The Last of Us Part 1 on PS5. It’s a two-hour-long trial, so you can carve out a decent chunk of the campaign in that time. Of course, you’ll surely need to purchase the game to finish it – though two hours should be enough to figure out if you think it’s worth it.

Naturally, this promotion coincides with the premiere of HBO’s The Last of Us TV show, which is receiving a staggeringly warm reception already. Only one episode is out thus far, but the series aired on Sunday and will run for roughly the next nine weeks.

The PS5 remaster came out back in September and includes a complete graphical overhaul of The Last of Us and its Left Behind DLC. There’s also a PC port arriving in March 2023.

PlayStation Plus Premium also grants access to an enormous back catalog of PS1, PS2, PS3, PSP, and loads of modern PS4 and PS5 games. There are several membership options, which costs $17.99 monthly, $49.99 quarterly, or $119.99 yearly.
