Sony has bundled Naughty Dog's iconic games, "The Last of Us Part I" and "The Last of Us Part II," in a new collection called "The Last of Us Complete" in time for the HBO adaptation's Season 2 premiere. It is a PlayStation 5-exclusive game.
However, Sony did not simply make a new collection of these games as there are several extra add-ons available to enjoy.
'The Last of Us Complete' Is Now Available From Sony
The latest from Sony and PlayStation is offering an experience that brings gamers back to a familiar setting, Naughty Dog's "The Last of Us." However, in this release from the Japanese gaming giant, "The Last of Us Complete" brings together both games under the series.
According to PlayStation's blog post, players are now given the chance to explore the original game and its sequel under one collection, but there is more to experience in this version. Moreover, this release features the remastered version of both games, which are optimized for the PlayStation 5, and gamers need not worry about older graphics.
Sony is inviting fans to yet again explore the story led by Joel and Ellie, as well as the other characters that were introduced in the series, including Abby, the Fireflies, and more. Additionally, Sony says that this is the best and easiest way to explore the story again on the PlayStation 5.
Added extra features include the likes of "The Last of Us's" roguelike mode, which was "Part II's No Return," that offers permanent death and randomized bosses, as well as the "lost levels" collections.
New PS5 Exclusive Is Right In Time for HBO Series
As revealed by Sony, this "The Last of Us Complete" release is exclusive to the PlayStation 5 only, and previous-gen consoles would not be able to access it, as well as Windows PC and Steam. It remains unconfirmed as of writing if this will be made available to other console and older-gen devices eventually.
There are two versions of the new collection from Sony, and these are its Digital and Physical versions.
The Digital download version of "The Last of Us Complete" is now available to download from the PlayStation Direct website and play via the PS5.
On the other hand, there is a limited physical version release called "The Last of Us Complete" Collector's Edition that is available for pre-order for $109.99 and features a special collector's box and new artwork alongside it. However, Sony will only release this physical Collector's Edition on July 10.
The new release from Sony is also right on time as HBO's original series, "The Last of Us," is premiering its Season 2 this Sunday, April 13, via HBO and Max.
