The summer is finally here and with all the uncertainty of isolating, green lists, amber lists and whatnot, booking a holiday might be a daunting experience.
But even though the mad rush to get a cottage, cabin or villa here in Wales means that lots of places are fully booked, there are still some lovely options left.

Huacaya’s Cush, Presteigne

This is an adult-only wooden pod found in 90 acres of luscious farmland with your only neighbours being alpacas and sheep.
It's from £122 with a minimum three night stay and has availability in June, July and August. It sleeps six and has magnificent views over the Radnorshire Hills.
Llain Ffynnon, Snowdonia

This is a lush 19th-century Grade II-listed apartment which features a glorious sea view from Castle Hill.

The Laundry Retreat, Llanrhaeadr

From £135 with a minimum two-night stay, this place sleeps two.

Medley Meadow Safari Tents, Monmouthshire

This six-bed safari tent is in nine acres of ancient woodland in the Usk Valley.
It's from £125 with a minimum two-night stay and availability is July, and September. The cosy tents each have a spacious decking and private outdoor area.
Stone Lodge, Llandeilo
With space in late August and September, this cottage sleeps up to five and starts at £100 a night.
It has two sitting rooms with a wood burner too, for some real relaxation and cosiness.

Lle Mary, Llanddwywe

Lle Mary is in a beautiful location 25 miles outside Aberystwyth which sleeps two people and also has a hot tub. It has limited availability in late July and also in September, so be quick. More here.
Woodpecker, Llandrindod Wells

This lovely two-person accommodation is a converted Great Western Railway Carriage used at the Elan Valley. It's brilliantly secluded and for adults only, and no dogs as you'll see that chickens and ducks roam freely at the farm where it is based. Segrwyd Mill Holiday Home, Denbighshire
This is an 18th Century watermill converted into accommodation that sleeps four guests and is free in August and September, from £120 per night.
It's close to the coast and the mountains, too.

Snowdonia Hideaway Hayloft, Tywyn
Lloft Encil Eryri, as it's also known, features mountain views, free WiFi and free private parking, located in Tywyn.
All units come with a balcony with garden views and it's ideal for explorers, it sleeps three.
Three nights cost from £276 and you'll still fins dates in August (a few this month) and there are more options in September.

With free dates in July and September, Highbrook is a cute hideaway tucked away between Radnor Forest and Offa’s Dyke Path with views of Hergest Ridge.
