Hey, remember that meme from a long time ago? The one we call “Popeyes kid,” that still lives today as a GIF for awkward situations?
It turns out the kid in the meme is now a college football player, and the NIL deal he received is just perfect.
To review: Dieunerst Collin was standing around at a Popeyes years ago, when someone spotted him and thought he was Terio, the star of a series of viral videos thanks to his dance moves (the phrase “Oooo! Kill ’em!” will jog your memory).
So Collin was filmed staring awkwardly at someone being told “Ooo!” and it went extremely viral.
Collin now plays for D-II Lake Erie College, and Popeyes found the perfect opportunity — the chain gave him an NIL deal:
