This is the all-new Kia EV4 in hatchback and sedan forms. The photos were published by Kia today, despite the South Korean automaker saying yesterday that it would reveal the EV4 alongside the EV2 and PV5 on February 27 during its annual EV Day event.
There must have been a meeting somewhere in Korea that decided this change of course, but it’s easy to see why it happened: the production Kia EV4 looks almost identical to the concept car that debuted in October 2023.
That’s a bold undertaking from the Hyundai Motor Group, but we’ve become accustomed to the company’s design-related endeavors with the Hyundai Ioniq 5, Hyundai Ioniq 6 and Kia EV9. Speaking of the Ioniq 6, the new Kia EV4 in sedan form is just that: a sedan, despite its profile suggesting it could be a liftback. That would make loading big objects easier, but for one reason or another, Kia stuck to the sedan formula–the gap between the body and the trunk lid is clearly visible in the photos.
What’s new here is the hatchback body style of the EV4. It’s more in line with the design of the refreshed EV6 crossover, with a straight-cut hatch and a prominent roof spoiler that may or may not hide a rear wiper. Owners of the 2022 Hyundai Ioniq 5 had to do without a rear wiper–an omission that was rectified on the 2025 model–so maybe the mothership won’t make that mistake a second time.
Kia hasn’t spilled the beans when it comes to technical specifications, but we expect the EV4 hatchback to be slightly smaller than the EV6, while the EV6 sedan could be a direct competitor for the ever-popular Tesla Model 3. There are also no photos of the interior yet–we’ll have to wait until the end of the month for those.

That said, we know that both the hatchback and the sedan will come with 19-inch wheels, while the sporty GT-Line trim will bring wing-shaped front and rear bumpers to the conversation, as well as triangular 19-inch wheels.
There’s no word yet on whether the Kia EV4 will come to the United States, but customers in South Korea and Europe can rest assured that they’ll be able to order the boldly styled EV later this year.
