Twitter has been flooded with conversations about how difficult it is to book an NCT appointment online without waiting months for the date.
One motorist took to the social media platform on Wednesday complaining that the earliest available date for an NCT was six months away.
They wrote: “NCT on my car is up this month. Tried to book online. The earliest available date is JULY! Anybody else have the same problem?”

His post was met with lots of people agreeing with the issue, having met the same lengthy wait, however, some had great advice for those struggling to find an earlier appointment.
One account chimed in below and recommended that they call up to book an appointment at an earlier date because not all time slots are posted online.
The last time a lengthy backlog was met by drivers, Applus+ advised that people should be able to get ahead of the queue if they ring instead of using the online booking service.
The company which runs the NCT service revealed months ago that they only post around one-third of the appointments online.
A spokesperson had said that motorists would benefit from calling by getting an appointment within a month instead of entering the lengthy online wait time.
It seems this is a stellar piece of advice as one person wrote on Twitter: “Rang in myself, and have an NCT booked in for two weeks’ time.”
