Stars stepped out for a night at the museum in New York yesterday night, as the likes of the Jonas Brothers, Tina Fey, Kate McKinnon and more arrived at the American Museum of Natural History Gala.
As a big group outing for many of the past and present members of the Saturday Night Live cast, it also marked a more solemn occasion for Alec and Hilaria Baldwin. It was the couple's first public appearance since Hilaria announced she had suffered a miscarriage less than two weeks ago.
Alec and Hilaria dressed up for the benefit in a sharp black suit and cream gown respectively, with the pair talking openly about how they were coping after the tragedy. Speaking to Extra on the red carpet, Alec said, “We’re going to have another one, just not now. It’s a question of time.”
He continued, “It’s been hard...If we were closer...I would be sewn to her.”
Hilaria revealed that she had suffered from her second miscarriage on Instagram, sharing previously that she was speaking to a therapist as part of her recovery process.
She also spoke with Extra on the night and said, “Physically, I am feeling a lot better. Emotionally, I’m feeling a lot better. Sharing can be hard, but once you share, it feels a little more real and then once it’s more real, you can heal.”
“It also made me feel not alone,” the podcast host and author continued.
The Jonas Brothers also attended as a trio, each dressed in dapper outfits that spoke to their individual personalities. Nick attended wearing a double breasted white blazer and stark black turtleneck, while his brother Kevin wore a classic black suit.
Joe Jonas on the other hand chose a sleek bomber jacket with contrast stitching, paired with one of his quintessential graphic print shirts underneath.
The night was something of a celebration for the boyband, who were recently nominated for a Grammy Award and addressed the honour on Instagram.
Saying that there had been “some really tough moments”, they continued, “This has truly been our greatest year yet. We get to be back on stage again, as brothers, where we belong and making music that we love and are proud of.”
Many members of SNL glammed up for the evening, ranging from the show’s patriarch Lorne Michaels through to newcomers including Bowen Yang.
SNL alum Tina Fey showed up to the event in a sophisticated black floral gown, alongside her husband Jeff Richmond who has composed music for her projects including 30 Rock and Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt.
Current SNL cast member Kate McKinnon opted for a menswear look on the night, wearing an all black look which featured a pop of lace.
Kenan Thompson looked a million miles away from his Kenan and Kel days, as he posed in a navy velvet blazer with black silk lapels.
Other notable names in attendance included Weekend Update host Colin Jost (who is engaged to Scarlett Johansson) and fellow SNL stars Heidi Gardner, Chloe Fineman, Kyle Mooney, Allison Hughes and Ego Nwodim.
