What happened to AJ Odudu in Strictly’s 2021 series?
During her time on Strictly, AJ was partnered with pro dancer Kai Widdrington (who recently won the 2022 Christmas Special). During their time in the competition, the pair achieved constant high scores and even topped the leaderboard in week one.
AJ and Kai’s efforts secured them a place in the Strictly final but then disaster struck. Mere days before the grand final, the TV presenter released a statement that read: “I’m deeply upset that I am unable to perform in the final due to a torn ligament in my right ankle.
“Learning to dance over the last 13 weeks has been an incredible honour and to do it alongside someone as special, patient and devoted as Kai is something I’ll treasure forever.” AJ’s injury also meant that she was unable to take part in the Strictly 2022 tour.
What else has AJ Odudu presented?
As mentioned, AJ famously presented Big Brother’s Bit on the Side in 2013. After this, she slowly but surely entered the mainstream media and secured numerous other presenting roles.
AJ hosted The Hot Desk from 2015 to 2016, and Manhunting With My Mum in 2018. A year later, she became a backstage presenter on The Voice UK.
In 2022, AJ was brought in as the presenter of The Bridge, alongside adventurer Aldo Kane, and she also hosted the revamped Big Breakfast with Mo Gilligan. Last October, AJ hosted E4's The Big Blow Out.
Aside from presenting, AJ has appeared in countless other TV shows including Strictly Come Dancing, The Chase: Celebrity Special, Celebrity Karaoke Club and Cooking with the Stars.
AJ is also one of the presenters rumoured to host the Big Brother ITV2 revival. You can find out everything you need to know about that here.
What is AJ Odudu’s net worth
According to LancsLive, AJ’s net worth was estimated to be around £1.2 million before she’d even appeared on Strictly. It is unknown what the figure has changed to since then.
Aside from her lucrative career as a presenter, AJ is also a contributing style editor for women’s fashion magazine Grazia and formerly had her own online blog with Hello magazine.
