It’s been awhile since we’ve seen a New York Jets loss as bad as this one.
We’re more than halfway through the 2022 NFL season and the Jets actually have a winning record at 6-4! The team even threw some shade the Buffalo Bills way after a key Week 9 victory over their AFC East rivals.
Unfortunately, the Jets good vibes came to a screeching halt on Sunday against the New England Patriots. For the second time in three weeks, the Patriots handed the Jets a loss, this time a 10-3 defeat in the most excruciating way possible. After being tied 3-3 for the majority of the game, rookie Marcus Jones returned a punt 84-yards for a Patriots touchdown with just five seconds remaining in the fourth quarter.
Instead of possibly going to overtime to sort out the winner, the Jets left New England with their tail between their legs after this brutal touchdown.
PUNT RETURN TD WITH 5 SECONDS LEFT! @Patriots

The Jets always find a way to lose football games in the most Jets way possible, huh. NFL fans had a field day laughing at the most recent misfortune to befall the Jets and their fans.

The #Jets are about to lose in absolutely terrible fashion.
An embarrassing end to a game that the Jets would've won if they had a QB capable of completing passes.

Even in relatively good years the Jets always provide at least one incredibly Jets loss.

Extremely ugly win for the Pats but an all-time classic L for the Jets https://t.co/NmokTq40yW

I am used to the Detroit Lions losing like this. Then again it’s a very Jets thing to do as well. @InsiderSportsOz https://t.co/mhqU8g8Zy5
