The Jets are currently projected to have the 11th overall pick in 2024 NFL draft

The New York Jets are on a three-game losing streak and are straying further away from clinching a spot in the AFC playoff picture. After getting blown out 32-6 by the Buffalo Bills in Week 11, the Jets are now projected to have the 11th overall pick in the 2024 NFL draft, according to Tankathon.

The Jets hold a 4-6 record entering a Week 12 matchup against the Miami Dolphins on Friday. Injuries continue to pile up along the offensive line, Zach Wilson was benched in the third quarter of Sunday’s loss, and the skill players not named Garrett Wilson and Breece Hall have been ineffective.

Aaron Rodgers suffered an Achilles injury in Week 1 versus the Bills in what was assumed to be a season-ending injury. The veteran quarterback has plans of trying to make a return before the end of this season, but the Jets also need to be in the playoff mix for that to be a possibility.

At the moment, the Jets are closer to possessing a top-10 selection than earning a spot in the postseason. The Jets could go in a variety of directions if they were to secure the No. 11 pick in next year’s draft.

Even with Rodgers returning next season, the Jets could potentially select a quarterback. They wouldn’t be in a position to select either Caleb Williams or Drake Maye unless they traded up, but that seems unlikely with the win-now nature of the roster.

The Jets could also use help along the offensive line or get Rodgers more weapons on the perimeter. Given the current state of the defense, a defensive player probably wouldn’t be the team’s preferred choice in the first round next year.

Time is ticking for the Jets to figure things out this season, but for the time being, they are currently projected to have a top-15 pick for the seventh straight NFL draft.
