Leeds United utility man Stuart Dallas is fifth in the Premier League this season for the amount of distance he has covered. Dallas has covered 331km over the course of the campaign which puts him among the division’s best.
Only Brentford’s Christian Norgaard, West Ham United’s Tomas Soucek, Southampton’s James Ward-Prowse and Manchester City’s Bernardo Silva are ahead of him. What makes Dallas’ inclusion on this list even more impressive is the fact he has played at full back for the majority of the season, whereas the other four are all midfielders.
Dallas spent much of last season in centre midfield but due to injuries to Luke Ayling and Junior Firpo, he has had to cover on either side of the defence for large portions of the campaign. That highlights the importance he has to this team, as he is able to get up and down the pitch for 90 minutes to ensure he is contributing both defensively and offensively.

Particularly now under Marsch, with the widemen operating in more central areas of the pitch, it is imperative that he regularly gets forward in order to provide the attacks with some width. Dallas is also the only outfielder in the Leeds squad this season to start every match in the Premier League this season.
In a campaign blighted by injuries that has affected almost everyone, Dallas has been ever-present. Without his reliability - fitness and performance wise - Leeds would have had serious issues at full back. He may not have hit the same levels as last season, but the Whites would be much worse off without him.
